This season, guests can discover something entirely new: Wildlight, a mesmerizing 3D wildlife projection set deep within the rainforest. West Coast forest creatures such as the black bear, coyote and Great Horned Owl come to life in stunning detail across the natural landscape.

Bright Walk In White Rock

Although already beautiful, the White Rock Pier will become even more magical and festive during the holiday season with its annual Bright Walk! This winter, the waterfront promenade decked with magical lights and displays full of holiday cheer, transforming the popular location to be seemingly right out of a Christmas movie. Among the 50,000 beautiful holiday lights is a beautifully illuminated light tunnel, a 20-foot Christmas tree, and an 8-foot-tall selfie frame.

Join the 7th edition of MENA Film Festival! Screening in Vancouver January 15 – 23, MENA 2026 presents over 40 shorts and features from everywhere MENA/SWANA folks are found. The expanded Opening Ceremony opens at the Vancouver Playhouse and regular screenings return to their longtime home at VIFF Centre! Can’t join in-person? With a few exceptions, all in-person films will be streaming online until January 30!

Museum of Surrey Presents: Our Connection to Hockey

Hockey is more than just a sport in Canada. It’s part of our culture, our history, and it’s played an important role in bringing people from all walks of life together under one game. The Museum of Surrey’s newest free exhibit is showcasing exactly that, highlighting the integral part hockey has played in Canada’s past and present. Excitingly, it also shines a light on Surrey’s local hockey heroes, as well as having plenty of interactive activities that will get the whole family hooting and hollering for a goal.

Visitors will have the chance to learn all about how hockey is part of the glue that keeps Canada together. Alongside the national icons on showcase, Surrey’s own athletes and game-changers will be under the same spotlight, as well as the untold stories of diversity in hockey. Women’s hockey, para hockey, and Punjabi broadcasters have all played some amazing parts in making the sport what it is today– especially locally.

This winter, enjoy free ice skating at a new covered outdoor rink at Surrey Civic Plaza from December 1, 2025 to February 16, 2026. Conveniently located beside Surrey Central Skytrain station with underground parking available, enjoy a bright and festive atmosphere with family and friends, and relax with hot beverages and snacks available for purchase from the on-site café. Bring your own skates, or rent them for $5 a pair. Helmets are free to rent and required for kids 12 and under. School and private groups can reserve the rink for groups of up to 80 people on select mornings.
