Sunshine Coast Hikes

Soames Hill

 

Find this gem in Gibsons that overlooks Keats Island and out towards the Strait of Georgia. It’s a steep climb but the view at the top can’t be beat. The intermediate hike only takes about an hour to complete and is 2 kms roundtrip. It’s perfect for a quick workout followed by some serious views.

Pender Hill

 

Tackle this short but steep hike that also has incredible views of the area. It looks down to the stunning Hotel Lake and is right across from Mount Daniel. This intermediate trail runs 2 kms long roundtrip. It takes close to an hour and a half to complete and has an elevation gain of 175 meters.

Hidden Grove

 

If you want to practice the art of forest bathing, this is the place to do it. You can find this serene park with a large network of lush trails to explore just north of Sechelt. The beautiful forested area is more of a leisurely stroll but it’s totally worth it. You’ll be completely surrounded by enormous Douglas Fir trees with just the gentle sounds of nature all around you.

Burnett Falls

 

Head over to this short and easy uphill route that only takes about 30 minutes to conquer. It has an elevation gain of 30 meters and is about half a kilometer roundtrip. The trail leads you to the stunning cascading Burnett Falls from across the canyon. It’s a gorgeous spot located just north of Sechelt.

Skookumchuck Narrows

 

This popular hike is a must if you’re in the area. It’s an easy 2 hour trek with 8 kms of trails roundtrip and minimal elevation gain. This stunning spot is located near the quaint community of Egmont. The powerful rapids and whirlpools of the ever changing tidal waters are a breathtaking sight to see.
