Spray parks are equally as fun– and especially good for the little ones who can’t swim quite yet. Coming to Maple Ridge this summer is a brand new spray park that is perfect for the kids.

MAPLE RIDGE PARK

Located in Maple Ridge is Maple Ridge Park. It’s a wonderful location that “offers an expanse of mature forest nursing a wide array of native plants and wildlife,” says the Maple Ridge website.

Aside from the nature you can enjoy, the park also features a recently-completed playground that will be opened alongside the new spray park. The playground has a fun range of features, such as:

• Accessible slide, see-saw, spinner, sand digger, and swing
• 30-foot tree house with slides, bridges, and climbing obstacles
• Side-by-side zipline
• Rubber playground safety surfacing
• Sensory play features, including a sand and water play area, musical play components, talk tubes, and in-ground trampolines
• Toddler play structure

The design was built with community feedback in mind in summer 2023. It focused on accessibility and excitement for kids, so everyone is able to enjoy the playground.

SPRAY PARK OPENING

As part of Maple Ridge’s 2023 Parks, Recreation, and Culture Master Plan, this new spray park has been similarly designed with community and diversification in mind. It is larger, more accessible, and water-efficient.

Construction began back in October 2024, and is now nearly complete. The spray features have been installed and tested, but they “still have some finishing touches to put on the spray park before it opens to the public,” says Engage Maple Ridge.

The spray park includes a water slide, a “mega soaker”, and a variety of other spray features.

Although an official opening date has not been announced, the spray park and playground will have a joint grand opening in summer 2025. The park is located on 13180 232 Street/23280 132 Avenue in Maple Ridge.
