While the reservation system has been open since December 19, 2025, not all individual campsites are open for bookings just yet. You still have plenty of time to prepare, but it’s best to know exactly how you can get your reservation confirmed for your next camping trip.

B.C. Campsite Reservations

First thing’s first: making a B.C. campsite reservation is as easy as going onto the BC Parks website and simply selecting your desired park, date range, and equipment you’re bringing. Some important things to remember are the reservations can be made 3 months in advance, which was recently changed from 4.

You can book front country, back country, and hut camping. While many can be reserved, not all campsites offer bookings. These ones function on a first-come, first-served basis. You can check if your campsite requires a reservation by checking the park’s webpage.

Beating The System

Making a reservation is simple. It’s actually getting the reservation that’s the difficult part. Spots often fill up quickly on the BC Parks website, especially considering that you make bookings months in advance.

So, how can you beat the system? First, be logged into the system; this helps you make reservations faster, as well as being more likely to lock in your booking. It’s also recommended to know what type of camping you want to be doing. And be sure to use all the tools that the reservation system gives you, like the toggleable viewing options. This includes Map, List, and Calendar.

But most of all: be early.

I Didn’t Get The Campsite I Wanted— What Do I Do?

While it’s not a guarantee that you’ll get your desired campsite, there are a few things you can do to score it.

First, know that cancellations can happen. Things come up, and so plans have to get discarded. Being on top of checking the campsite you want can be a good way to get it back. But to make this even easier, you can simply sign up for notifications. You’ll get an email if your campsite is available on a selected date!
