Getting the Shot aims to give a real, raw and unique perspective of what it takes, physically and mentally, to be a snowboard photographer through the eyes and lens of Erin Hogue.

As one of the only female photographers in the industry, Erin’s unique perspective offers viewers a behind the scenes look into the intense, last-minute, weather-dependent lifestyle of a winter action sports photographer.

WHISTLER, BC February 20, 2017 – Getting the Shot is an experimental documentary series that gives a raw and real perspective of what it takes to shoot world class photos. Episode 1 is now live, with Episodes 2 coming out next Sunday (Feb 26) and episodes 3-4 releasing on the next two proceeding Sundays. Getting the Shot, is a first person perspective of what goes into every photo: the people, the places, the obstacles but above all the adventure.

Be inspired by the breathtaking scenery, captivated by the diverse characters and immersed into another world again and again. Find out what it takes to work with elite athletes across a variety of disciplines and get a sense of the unique sub-cultures that go along with each. Professional Photographer, Erin Hogue will give you an up close and personal perspective of this abnormal lifestyle. Experience the highs, the lows and the immense challenges that need to be overcome in order to in fact, Get the Shot.

Six years ago, Hogue took a chance and moved to Whistler B.C. with a backpack, a camera and the hopes of taking photos in the backcountry. The mountains and the people who explore them are her primary muse. Inspired by a challenge and a solid adventure, Hogue’s winters are spent on a snowmobile in the backcountry accessing remote locations. In the summers, she heads south and the ocean, desert and rainforests become her prominent backdrops.

In a relatively short amount of time, Hogue develop a wide client list including Oakley, Element, MTV – Music Entertainment, Absinthe Films, and has been published worldwide in such publications as Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder,, Flare and Pleasure Snowboard Magazine. Hogue was also one of 6 finalists in X Games Zoom Photography Contest.
