Lanterns In The Garden Vancouver 2018

Guests will go back in time to enjoy an authentic and traditional Yuanxiao festival. It marks the end of the New Year celebrations and also the first full moon day in the Lunar Calendar, which symbolizes the coming spring. The festival started since more than 2000 years ago and had become a festival with significance.

This authentic experience features lanterns made and designed by artists in China.

Last year, Lanterns in the Garden – Zodiac themed had over 4,000 guests come out and celebrate.

Plenty of exciting activities are scheduled to take place throughout the festival. Guests can partake in riddle-solving, lantern-making, face-painting, calligraphy, sugar-painting, and much more. Make sure you also experience the vivid performances that will be put on once a week.

Is there food?

The event features a spacious yard with vendors and food trucks where visitors are exposed to a taste of Yuanxiao and other Asian delicacies such as: roasted chestnuts, pork buns, Chinese style pancakes, and much more.  

Lanterns in the Garden is all about inclusive cultural celebration. As a non-profit organization, they strive to bring all Vancouverites happiness, joy and warmth, while showcasing the artistic, and festive elements of cultural talents and the Chinese Lantern Festival!
