The humpback whale that’s been hanging out in the waters of Vancouver just can’t stop showing off. Whether it’s putting on a show for kayakers or those standing near the shore, photos of the whale have been surfacing all over social media.
Most recently, the whale was caught on video breaching in the waters around Point Grey. While a few paddle boarders were patiently waiting for it to make an appearance, the suspense can be felt building, until finally, the humpback jumps out of the water in spectacular fashion.
Waiting…
…and then all of a sudden…
These incredible marine mammals can grow up to 15 metres in length and live to be 50 years old. Currently, scientists estimate there are 40,000 humpback whales in the world’s oceans.
Watch the video below. Skip to 1:26 for the action, but we think it’s better if you let the suspense build.
