Ice Kingdom Whistler 2018: Snow Sculpture Exhibit & Maze

by Blog Updates |

Whistler’s Ice Kingdom is open until the end of March 31st 2018, leaving you plenty of time to plan a family trip up to Whistler to experience the immersive wonderland of Ice Kingdom. Both children and adults will have plenty to enjoy while you’re here, test your sense of direction with the snow maze, take a ride down the slippery snow slide, or just grab some hot chocolate and stare at all the incredible snow sculptures surrounding you.

Whistler Ice Kingdom Construction

Ice Kingdom is the brainchild of master carver, David Xu Rui. The inspiration? A 300-year-old Chinese tradition of family and friends gathering to create sculptures from snow and ice. Ice Kingdom is a celebration of this activity, rooted with family values, which saw friendly competitions with other families to see who could display the most intricate piece of art during long winters.
