THE BMO VANCOUVER MARATHON

This year’s BMO Vancouver Marathon is at full capacity, “reaching sell-out numbers faster than ever.” Similar to 2024, 2025 has hit record numbers for their registered runners with a whopping 25,000+ people signed up and ready to run.

The race will be taking place on Sunday May 4, 2025. Both the Marathon and Half Marathon will begin near Queen Elizabeth Park, with the finish line being located in Downtown Vancouver. The 8KM will start in Stanley Park on Lagoon driveThe Half Marathon runners have a 7am start while the Marathon runners will set off at 8:30am. The 8KM runners will start at 9:30am.

Suffice to say, there will be plenty of running throughout the morning and well into the day.

ROAD CLOSURES

There are a fair number of affected roads that will see closures. The BMO Vancouver Marathon has listed all closure and detour maps on their website. You can check here for the full list with times, but you can expect some closures in the following areas:

The BMO Vancouver Marathon website notes that, “safety continues to be a top priority for event organizers” and that “event organizers will continue to closely monitor all health guidelines and follow appropriate regulations.”

If you’re running in the races this year, good luck to you! And if you’re commuting on Sunday, good luck to you, too! This year will certainly be the biggest turnout for the BMO Vancouver Marathon, so be sure to stay safe and have fun.
